Diploma in Nutritional Therapy
This modular programme can be studied on a full- time or part-time basis over a maximum registration period of 4 years. The course is extremely flexible with full-time and part-time routes, and the choice of a blended learning or distance learning option (with attendance for practice components and assessments), to meet the needs of students in employment or with caring roles.
The part time course has been designed to suit those in full or part time work, or those with busy lifestyles. You have a maximum of two years to complete all modules in any one level of the diploma. On successful completion of the full course, you will be awarded a Level 5 diploma.
The diploma is based on completion of a range of modules (total of 240 credits) that incorporate different approaches to the study of nutritional therapy. Modules on the blended learning course are generally delivered in teaching blocks with supported study in between.

- Physiology for Nutrition
- Macronutrients and Health
- Micronutrients and Health
- Food Science and Safety
- Pathophysiology for Nutrition
- Nutrition Practice 1

- Research Methods in Nutrition

- Nutritional Genomics and Health

Entry Requirements
A minimum of three A'levels at Grade C or above, including Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, or similar subjects such as Food Technology, Home Economics, Applied Sciences or Environmental Studies; or equivalent qualifications such as:
- BTEC Extended Diploma (18-units not including early years) - MMM
- Access to HE – Full award (60 Credits) with a minimum of 45 credits at Level 3, including 15 at Merit or Distinction, 15 of these in a science (Biology or Chemistry ) or health-related subject, and 15 at Level 2 including English and Mathematics GCSE equivalent (if not already achieved). Or
- 45 credits at Level 3 in other suitable qualifications such as Personal Trainer, Exercise Referral, or similar.
A minimum of three GCSEs at Grade C or above, must include English, Mathematics and Science - Biology and Chemistry, or Double or Triple Award.
